Here at Daya, our essence is giving. As well as being passionate about creating beautifully handcrafted jewelry, we're also dedicated to improving the lives of others, and what's even better, is that we get to do it with your help. In celebration of International Women's Day, we are increasing our donations to the Fior di Loto Foundation, which help to improve life conditions and education for disadvantaged women and girls. Based in Pushkar, India, the foundation receives 10% of our proceeds, and to celebrate this special day, we are doubling that amount!
Giving back to those who need it the most is deeply ingrained in our Daya philosophy and we feel so grateful to be able to intertwine this with our amazing customers. This months International Women's Day #IWD2022 comes with a strong theme, Changing Climates: Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow. We are already helping to support 700 disadvantaged women, girls and their families, and we're really excited about being able to assist them with expressing their creative flair with our next donation round.
Inspired by their passions, determination and strength, we're doing what we can to see the community in Pushkar thrive, and with every purchase you make, our Daya Tribe also contributes to the amazing Fior di Loto Foundation. With many of the families being interested in garment making and design, 20% of all profits made on International Women's Day will go towards purchasing brand new sewing machines for as many people as possible.
By donating sewing machines we are able to help the families learn tailoring, thus leading to them being able to find a self-sustaining quality job and support themselves. By being able to support the underprivileged in this way, we are taking steps to move women and girls out of poverty and away from dehumanizing professions.
We're also excited to launch our brand new Daya tote bags, and we can't wait to see which design you connect too. On #IWD2022, to really boost our donations to the Fior di Loto Foundation, we are giving away a tote bag to each of our Daya Tribe who spend over $50.
